Pollution levels during Deepavali can be brought down only if everyone makes a concerted effort to burst less crackers, say readers

This year, the air seemed a little less hazy during Deepavali. This is partly due to greater awareness about the air and noise pollution caused by crackers. Will things not improve if we celebrate this festival in its true spirit by just lighting lamps?
