Beyond VIVA
All of 22, she is officially yet to finish school, but this former VIVA girl has a lot more to her than meets the eye. With a free spirit and a creative mind, Anoushka, a VJ and a musician, does not like to plan her life.
Talking about the break-up of India's first all-girl band VIVA, she says, "At a point in time we felt that we couldn't get along with each other anymore. We did make a staggering sum with the first album. And on our own channel (Channel V) we had people that would back us up, but things just fell apart." She repents, "At the end of the day such things leave a bad taste in your mouth."But adds that the episode has helped all the members of the band evolve as human beings and has strengthened the bond between them. But it was all worth it, "We got to work with such cool people like Javed Akhtar!" she gushes. Having been in playback singing for some time now, she thinks that Bollywood rules over pop because of its popularity. With a fewshows lined up in Delhi and a few film songs in tow, she also has Tamil, Telugu and Kannada songs up her sleeve.
