POWER OF A LAUGH Participants try out laughter therapy at the recent Cancer Sahyog event
People diagnosed with cancer often say that the first time a doctor tells them they have cancer, they become so stunned by the news that they hardly hear much of what is said by the doctor afterwards.
After the initial shock, most people begin to look for sources of support, in family, friends and also complementary therapies.
Cancer Sahyog, a unit of the Indian Cancer Society, recently held in New Delhi a panel discussion on the importance of complementary therapies to better the overall health of cancer patients.

The panellists included nutritionist Shikha Sharma, who talked about how to lead a healthy lifestyle, Sangeeeta Shah, who explainedthe Theta therapy to those present, among several others, including Dr. Ramesh Sareen of Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals.
