WORKSHOP
For a cause

Three-month courses in tailoring, embroidery, batik, painting, doll making, electronics, computer training, catering and handicrafts will be provided to the members of the Women Self Help Groups and their family members free of cost. A "National Art and Craft Fair" will have on display stone paintings, carvings in wood, cholis, silk paintings, palm leaf engraving, jute bags, terracotta pots and statues, Kashmir shawls and dress materials, easy chairs, gold-plated pooja items and more.
Womenswear

A specially designed collection for women is on display this month. Vintage denim tones, herringbone, checks and floral designs have been used on the collection done in soft browns, ecru, camels, berry pinks and reds. Striped and solid jerseys embellished with appliqués and beads are also part of the collection.

Dressing up mothers

Children's day
November 14, 3.30 p.m., Russian Centre for Science and Culture, 74, Kasturi Ranga Road.
Children day celebrations will be organised by Probus Club of Chennai and the centre. Contests in oratory, fancy dress, music and dance will be conducted. Paintings by children on the topic "Family" will be displayed.
