VIRTUAL MECHANIC

Car and bike questions? We have the answers

I am keen to buy a motorcycle and need one with good mileage, easy maintenance and also a good engine. I've heard a lot about the Bajaj Platina and the TVS Star City. But I've also heard that TVS engines are not durable. And my friends recommend the Bajaj CT100. I ride around 60-80km a day within the city. Please advice which one to go for.

Sudhanshu Bharadwaj, via email

We suggest you test ride both the Platina and Star City and buy whichever one you prefer. Both are very evenly matched bikes. There is no reliability issue with TVS engines and they are just as good as the best available in India.
