Hotels in the city and at Kovalam gear up for the New Year bash

It's time again to welcome the New Year. The mood is upbeat as people chart out plans for the New Year. The hotels in the city and in Kovalam too are busy making preparations for the New Year bash.
Dancing shoes
If you enjoy dancing, Muthoot Plaza is where you should head to. A DJ is being flown down from Mumbai. A `Belgian flair show' is also being planned. You can savour all these along with food and beverages at Rs. 2,500 for a person (including taxes).
The treat at Maurya Rajadhani for New Year's Eve comprises live music, a magic show and a buffet, starting from 7.30 p.m. For Rs. 350 (plus taxes) one can enjoy 10 varieties of non-vegetarian food including turkey, duck, crab and mutton, eight vegetarian dishes and six desserts, including ice creams, pudding and soufflé.
A mind-boggling `800 dishes by eight chefs,' awaits one at Taj Green Cove Resort, Kovalam. DJ music, tap dancing and fireworks will accompany this. It is Rs. 5,000 for a person (plus tax) and Rs. 2,500 for guests below 12.
Take a culinary cruise of the orient in `Flavours of the East' at The Terrace, The Leela Kempinski, Kovalam. Priced at Rs. 4,500 per adult and Rs. 3,900 per child (all inclusive), the excitement starts at 8 a.m. Celebration washes over The Tides, The Leela Kempinski from 8 p.m. with an eclectic buffet, live music, cultural entertainment and more. The gala experience is priced at Rs. 5,900 per adult and Rs. 5,300 per child.
At `Manaltheeram Ayurveda Beach Village,' Kovalam, `Mahostav 2007' is being planned. A temple festival-like ambience will be recreated, complete with caparisoned elephants, palmist, mehndi art, `thattukada,' bangle and balloon stands. The rate is Rs. 2,000 for a person and Rs. 3,500 for a couple. Ghazal music can be enjoyed at `Terrace Green,' the roof top restaurant of `The South Park' along with six non-vegetarian and nine vegetarian treats plus 10 desserts, for Rs. 800 for each person.
DJ music is being organised at `Travancore Hall' along with a buffet consisting of eight non-vegetarian, 11 vegetarian treats and 11 desserts. All this for Rs. 3,000 per couple, Rs. 1,800 for a person and Rs. 800 for children below 12 years (all including taxes).
A live band will perform at `Regency.' The bash will start at 8 p.m.
