For cricket lovers

CrickeM, an interactive website for cricket buffs

CrickeM, the first social video network for cricket was launched, recently in the country. At the launch function, Sashi Chimala, co-founder, CrickeM, said, "CrickeM will be a platform for cricket lovers to express and seek public opinion on the game. It is an interactive channel where anyone with a PC or a mobile can express/share their opinions with the rest of the world. through www.crickem.com."

Registration is free and, on registering, an invite is sent from the site. The network grows by personal invitation from existing members. After joining CrickeM, one can connect with other cricket fans and cricketers around the world, keep in touch with friends online, find people they know are members of a cricket or fan club, buy and sell things related to cricket and get advice from others. With three different sections — Clubs, Videos and Blogs — the site has everything that one would look for. Cricket buffs can share experiences, breaking news can be uploaded immediately from the Net or a mobile, footage can be shared, gully cricket can be played, quirky videos and serious content can be captured and viewed across the globe instantly.

Uploading and sharing videos is easy and requires a mobile that can accept video and send MMS messagess; Internet access or a data plan from a service provider, and a member account on CrickeM.

Once the profile is set up, members who have a cell phone equipped with a video camera OR a video camera can simply send that content via email to CrickeM. Users also can register for a CrickeM account and create a personal network of videos. Once completing a simple registration process, one can save their favourite videos from CrickeM, create play lists of videos and connect with other users and friends and family to watch personal videos.

Registered users merely need to upload a video from their computers, and CrickeM handles the conversions behind the scenes. Videos are turned into a Flash video, making them viewable through any major web browser, including Internet Explorer, Firefox.
