Bamboo Bay re-launched
The new look Bamboo Bay
Bamboo Bay, the bay side restaurant of The Park, was re-launched with a fresh look recently. To add value to the natural aesthetics and give it a complete new face the hotel requisitioned the services of Australian landscape architect and interior designer Michael Richard White from Bali.
Impressed by the scenic beauty of the Eastern Ghats and tribal lifestyle, the architect reflected the rich ethnic heritage of tribals in his work.
Set amidst lush green coconut trees the restaurant faces the blue waters and the golden sands. The entire restaurant is made up of bamboos and dried up and coconut leaves knit delicately into mats. While the central hall is air-conditioned, people who prefer to sit outside will be caressed by the gentle breeze from the bay.
Tribal motifs and rough-hewn wooden chairs add to the rugged and natural look. The twin seating areas create a unique mood ideal for a business dinner or an intimate evening. Subroto Mazumdar, general manager of the hotel, informed that the restaurant was done up at a cost of Rs. 70 lakhs.
The carefully crafted menu comprises hot and spicy Chettinad and Andhra cuisine. Tandoor items add up to the innovative cocktails and wines.
The restaurant is open from 6 p.m. onwards. For reservations call 2754488.
