A very vocal weekend



FORMIDABLE TALENT Begum Parween Sultana performs on the opening day on Saturday

Hindustani music aficionados can look forward to Kanada Utsav, featuring renowned names in the genre.

MetroPlus is the media partner for event which is promoted by Pancham Nishad and sponsored by Tata and Taj Hotels.

The first part of the concert begins on Saturday, January 6, 2007, with Pandit Suhas Vyas and Begum Parween Sultana. The utsav continues on Sunday, January 7, with Shruti Sadolikar and Pandits Rajan and Sajan Misra.

The artistes will be accompanied by Ravindra Yavagal, Vishwanath Nakod and Mangesh Mulay on the tabla, and Vyasa Murthy Katti and Ravindra Katoti on the harmonium.

The programme on both days begins at 6.30 p.m. at the Chowdiah.

Season tickets, priced at Rs. 300, Rs. 200 and Rs. 100 are available at the venue as well as at the K.C. Das outlet between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
