Ethnic crafts

Contemporary crafts from across the country are on display at Kamala

Choose from ethnic palm leaf baskets, cane and bamboo items, traditional puppets, stone and metal ware at the ongoing Kamala exhibition at Sri Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam, Siddhapudur.

Organised annually by the Crafts Council of India in memory of its patron founder, the legendary Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, the exhibition brings together Councils of from across the country including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Delhi, Assam, Andhra, Tripura and Nagaland.

Other products on display include traditional puppets, Satagaon silk embroidered products, dokra, bhoota bronze, palm leaf baskets and other craft items.

Every Council has brought in natural dyed fabrics. Artisans will also be present at the venue to demonstrate their craft.

The exhibition is on till January 11.
