IN BIT ROLES Kim Sharma

As the long awaited Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana made it to theatres this week, actress Kim Sharma is in news again. Does she believe in the title? "Ideally I am for an equal world, but if the condition arises there are no disadvantages. For, girls are emotional, intelligent and strong enough to run this world. As for the charge that we are slow on taking decisions, I believe I can make my mind at the spur of the moment," says Kim, known for her one-liners.

"Yes, my friends say that I give it back. Perhaps that's why I am getting comedies a lot more these days." Indeed, her performance of a chatterbox in Tom Dick and Harry won her good reviews.

"Here again it is a romantic comedy where I am playing a married woman. The crux is, three of us, Rekhaji, Vasundhra (Das) and I want to get Mahima (Chowdhury) married. Now the problem is each of us has a choice. So Mahima has three options to choose from. This leads to confusion and comic situations."

The film is said to be based on the popular series Sex and the City and Kim accepts that there are similarities in terms of certain situations and characters.

`No complaints'

Kim started her career with Yash Raj banner's Mohabbatein with much fanfare but after a couple of flops she has been reduced to bit roles.

And if she gets a solo lead, it is in films likes Ladies Tailor, a cheap comedy.

"I have no qualms about doing small roles provided they are significant for the film. I don't take frustration home. Whether I have one or six, number of films doesn't concern me. As for Ladies Tailor, it was a disappointment. Once in a while you get a film where what is told to you at the narration doesn't result on the screen. It's part of the game. One learns from such mistakes."

Lot of her contemporaries have accepted television as their future but Kim is not giving up hopes for the time being. Not even for reality shows like Big Boss. "For a couple of years at least I am not thinking about television."

Kim has a number of films lined up including Khafa, Chodo Na Yaar and Nehle Pe Dehla. "Nehle Pe Dehla is the next in line. It's a routine commercial film with Saif Ali Khan and Neha Dhupia."
