Call Centre

Essential skills

I would like to appear for call centre interviews and want to know what they would be looking for? I am a B.Com graduate from Osmania University.

Parameswaran

You should possess strong verbal communication skills, including good voice quality, diction, and articulation; customer service skills including an ability to adopt a customer's changing needs; technical skills, including proficiency with computers and keyboarding skills; willingness to work in a 24X7 environment and a target driven environment.

Improving grammar

Not just call centres

I will be completing my graduation in March and would like to join a call centre or a BPO. What are the job opportunities available for fresh graduates?

Ramani Ramanathan

There are several opportunities that are available for young graduates in BPOs. Call Centres are just one of them. You can look at finance and accounting outsourcing if you are a commerce graduate, legal process outsourcing, knowledge-based services and market research outsourcing etc. You can join as a customer service or technical support associate or look at data entry and transaction processing jobs.

I want to improve my grammar as I want to speak better English. Can you please help?

Balaji Kamaraj

A great website for grammar is http://webster.commnet.edu/grammar. It offers interactive quizzes and reviews all major components of basic grammar. This may be helpful if you want to learn on your own. I would recommend that you join a good language training institute as you will be able to learn faster and will also stay motivated in a team environment.
