Heart of the matter

Inmatters of the heart, do we really need to follow a book?

WORD POWER Some believe what they read about love

Everybody these days is into reading books and that's a lovely thing. For me, a book has to be gripping right from page one till the very end. Now, what does this have to do with romance? Well, it so happens that some people believe whatever they read.

But when it comes to romance and matters of the heart, do we really need to follow what a book says? Do we dependtoo much on book information that we forget to think from the heart?

It so happened that a friend and I were chatting one evening about relationships and break ups when she said, "You know! Scorpio and Cancer make a really good match." And that's what sparked this article. Reading is good, but almost everybody in the civilised world would rather read a book on love compatibilities than one on how to save a relationship.

And when they do read those books, and God forbid, they're not compatible, they WILL, no matter how learned they are... blame it on the stars. My question is when these compatibilities are as unpredictable as the weather and we mostly do it for fun, why do people spend their time delving into books looking for their perfect match, when they should be spending it on strengthening their existing relationship. There is only one thought and a question I can leave you with. If you are in a relationship, wouldn't you rather read a book that guides you more to the heart than to the stars.
