For the knotty days!

A report on Bridal Asia-2007

One of the biggest wedding exhibitions in the country, Bridal Asia-2007 concluded in the Capital recently.

The exhibition saw the collections of some of the biggest names in the fashion industry irrespective of their reputation as trousseau designers.

This included the ones like Bhairavi and Pallavi Jaikishan, Surily Goel and a slew of names from across the Wagah border, who are known for the bridal wear but the surprise was the entry of names like Suneet Varma, Rina Dhaka and Malini Ramani.

Before the exhibition, some of the designers showcased their work through fashion shows.

The highlight was the collection by Suneet Varma who took due care of the options for grooms.

Suneet used heritage textiles, glass beads and strong silhouettes to create an imperious look personified by Riddhima Kapoor, as she walked in a lehenga choli.

Falguni and Shane attempted to give the bride a sensual look, as according to them today's bride can afford to be an irreverent diva. Their brides sported fishnet lehengas and chiffon scarves.

Summing up the event, Divya Guruwara, CEO, Bridal Asia, said, "The attempt was to introduce fresh wedding trends, which cater to all kinds of taste simplifying the monumental task of trousseau shopping."
