Mother-son sentiment

Looks like Telugu films lack good scripts what with `sister sentiment' and `mother sentiment' ruling the roost. The response to the recent biggies such as "Khatarnak", "Rakhi", "Annavaram" and "Desamuduru" was lukewarm at the box-office. Last week the much-awaited V. V. Vinayak-directed "Yogi", starring Prabhas, Sarada and Nayantara, was released. It is another weepy film about a mother-son relationship, which is being appreciated in the B and C stations. The film is a remake of the Kannada blockbuster "Jogi" (also being remade into Tamil as "Parattai" with Dhanush). Veteran actress Sarada plays Prabhas' mother. The songs tuned by Ramana Gogula and shot among the pyramids of Egypt are super hits.
