Pick up the choicest handicrafts at the Central Cottage Industries Emporium fair

ILLUMINATING The lamps will light up your home
Central Cottage Industries Emporium is hosting its annual Cottage Mela, dubbed the Sankranti Utsav to bring together over 50 artisans from all over the country to display their handloom and handicrafts.
Take your pick from handloom textiles, saris and dress material, home linen, wall hangings, wooden antique replicas and more created by award-winning craftsmen and weavers. Tribal art and paintings from Orissa, ceramic pottery from Khurja in UP, batik work and terracotta from West Bengal, furniture from Saharanpur in UP, Bastar dhokra art, Madhubani paintings, and knick-knacks for the home are on display. Hand-knotted silk carpets from Kashmir, cotton dhurries from Agra, hand-knotted woollen carpets from Amritsar and Jaipur using natural fibre and colours, jewellery from Rajasthan, cane and bamboo products, bronze and brass idols, are some of the other specialties on offer.
A wide range of handloom traditions ranging from the ikat to Mangalagiri, chikan work to Bagh prints, silk jackets, scarves and ties will be other prized picks on offer. The Mela is on till January 28 at Safina Plaza.
