Nilgiris trek
Discover the beauty of the Nilgiri Hills on a trek.
As part of their Silver Jubilee trekking year, the Youth Hostels Association of India organises a series of trekking expeditions in the Nilgiri Hills for Rs. 1,700.
The base camp will be in Parsans Valley, about 12 km from Ooty. The locations covered will include Mukurthi Dam, Pandiar Hills, Pykara falls, and Mudumalai.
There will be ten groups, with the first departing on April 29, and the last one on May 8.
The fee includes vegetarian food, accommodation, supervision, expert guidance and equipment. Booking will be on a first come first serve basis. Those below 15 years require parental consent.
For the family
The camp will be held at the Tamil Nadu Bharat Scouts and Guides Camping Centre in Stanley Park in Coonoor.
The fee is Rs. 2,000 for families of four with two children under the age of 12, with a charge of Rs. 500 per additional family member. The duration of the camp will be from April 29 to May 3, and from May 3 to 7. For further details, contact 044-24890976.
