DRAWING ATTENTION Blank Noise, which has done numerous campaigns on sexual harassment of women in public, is organising Walk The Night
Walking through the streets alone at night has always been difficult and often harrowing experience for women all around the globe. Drawing attention to the need for city streets to be safer for women this International Women's Day, Radio Indigo is organising "Walk the Night" in association with Blank Noise, an NGO. The walkathon will be symbolic of a message that women also should enjoy the streets of the city after sunset.
On March 8, Radio Indigo RJs Cindu Chandrashekaran, Meghana Dhawan, Ayesha Dsouza and Amy Dubash, as well as the Blank Noise volunteers will join women from all walks of life college students, working women, homemakers on a walk from Rest House Road Park to the High Court through MG Road and Cubbon Park via Press Club. Walk the Night will be flagged off at 7 p.m. from Rest House Road Park and conclude at 9 p.m. at the High Court. An open invitation has been extended to all women desirous of participating in the walk to come forward and do so. To confirm participation, email walkthenight@radioindigo.fm and blanknoise@gmail.com.
