An uncommon story

Boshi Sen did his country proud as one of its foremost agricultural scientists, helping the advent of the Green Revolution. His wife, Gertrude Emerson, an American, belonged to the famous Emerson family. Generally regarded as the best woman editor in America, she was often referred to as `Miss Marco Polo', by her peers in America. , In reading about Boshi and Gertrude we come across warm and human glimpses, away from the commonly held impressions and images about them, of Gandhi, Nehru and Indira Gandhi, Eddington and Einstein, Tagore and Romain Rolland, Carl Gustav Jung and Uday Shankar, with many of whom they had long-lasting, meaningful relationships.
