Chords and Notes

JEENA TERE BINA

T-Series, Rs.135

A relatively new name on the circuit, Arun Daga has a voice that convincingly conveys the pain of love.

This is his second album after "Dil Pagal Hai". Music is composed by Sandeep-Surya and lyrics are by Sayeed Quadri, Vikram Chaudhary and Naveen Tyagi.

"Jeena Tere Bina" is the best of the ten songs on offer. Out of these three are remixes. A sad song, the title track has music and voice that grow on you. Some meaningful couplets by Quadri add to the nostalgic effect. The mood of the album largely centres round love and longing. "Haan Mere" and "Ye Kaise Doon Bhula" also manage to strike a chord with the heart.

RHYME TIME

Shemaroo, Rs.99

It has been launched just a little late in the day to help the parents of kids seeking admission to nursery this year.

Never mind. There are other kids, even younger! For them "Rhyme Time" is a boon. Not only are some of the timeless rhymes like "Jingle Bells", "Ring-a-ring-a Roses", "Rain Rain Go Away", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Jack and Jill" part of the collection, it also has digital audio.

Suitable for multi-media PCs, this collection has as many as 30 rhymes. And they all come with lots of dances that kids love. This ensures they learn the poems without any great effort.

The album has "Snowy Santa and Clumsy Clown", and labels and booklet of nursery rhymes come free with this offering from Shemaroo.

So, if you have a child at home who is too young to go to school, or a child who likes rhymes, this is just the right bargain. Celebration times, folks!
