Animated `CID Moosa'

Kids will get to see `CID Moosa' in an animated form soon

MAIDEN VENTURE `CID Moosa' is produced by Wireframe Animations

We now have the life of Pope John Paul II in animated form and so too those from Indian mythology. But rarely do we come across an animated version of a popular film. This is what makes `CID Moosa,' the animated version of the Malayalam hit film, special.

The look and feel of animation films still remain largely unchanged from the Walt Disney days. Of course, the emergence of computers as an important tool has made some of the work in this field more automated.

Otherwise, full-length Indian animation films still remain an exclusive premise. And this is where Binu K. Sasidharan and his team are trying to break into.

Produced by Dileep and his brother Anoop for Grand Production, the slapstick `CID Moosa' was a huge hit. The audience was mainly children, below 10, who simply loved the characters like Moosa, Kochunny, Ramanan Veerappan and the dog Arjun.

This version will surely keep alive the characters even as plans are afoot for a sequel in the series `CID Moosa From Scotland.'

Produced by Wireframe Animations, Aluva, this is incidentally their maiden venture in this genre. "We hope to release this during the coming summer holidays. It will be in DVD and VCD format. This will be a full-length film of one hour 25 minute duration. The film will have two songs, penned by Anil Perumpalam, who has also done the script, and set to tune by Sajaykumar. We also hope to serialise this in eight episodes, each a separate story," says Binu.
