People feel marriages should be celebrated in a grand manner, irrespective of their status. They take it as a matter of prestige. Right from printing of invitation cards to the wedding feast, a lot of money is spent. Marriage is performed only for acceptance and recognition of man and wife in the presence of friends and relatives. Happiness can be shared in a simple get-together. Entertainment programmes, elaborate menu wherein a lot of food goes waste can all be avoided. Instead, the money spent on this can be utilised in a better way for the benefit of the couple.
