Ekta’s new find

Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms has added a new serial to its kitty. “Kasturi,” a daily soap launched on STAR Plus (9.30 p.m.) last week, is the story of a middle class girl and her struggle to protect her family’s legacy. It i s believed that Ekta had a rough time as hours before the telecast of the first episode, she had to replace the actor who was playing the title role. Says Ekta: “After watching the first episode, I felt the girl was not suitable. So after a quick audition, I decided to cast Shubhangi Atre, who was doing a small role in “Kasauti Zindagi Kay.” I needed a fresh face, with traditional looks.”

The initial feedback from viewers has been positive, and now Ekta has started the search for the male lead in “Kasturi.”
