The universal mother

The concept of celebrating Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May is very new in India and it can be said that in a time span of less than a decade, Mother’s Day has been a great success.

Mother’s Day is the time to say a big thank you Ma. Mother Day came into being due to the efforts made by Ms Julia Ward Howe and Ms Anna Jarvis. The Resolution for having a dedicated ‘Mother’s Day’ was signed by US President Woodrow Wilson on May 8, 1914. Since then people across the world have been celebrating Mothers Day with joy and devotion.

What You Can Do On Mother’s Day!

Visit or call your mother and surprise her by telling her you still remember how she used to care for you.

Remember to illustrate your point with reminiscences of your childhood.

Send her a card or flowers with a poem specially written for her (never mind if it is not perfect).

Take her out to dinner or cook for her.

Take her out for a dance, and tell her she is your first girlfriend and the first woman in your life.

Surprise her by making breakfast this Sunday.

Think of any one woman, who has been a mother figure to you, and surprise her by visiting her with a box of chocolates
