For the first time, a stand-up comedy show starts on Tamil television — “King Queen Jack” on Vijay TV, every Tuesday at 10 p.m. It features four top comedians, who can guarantee a good laugh — Y. Gee. Mahendra, a film, TV and
theatre artiste, known for his comic timing; Urvasi, the queen of comedy; Badava Gopi, a trendsetter in TV comedy, also known for his talent at mimicry; and Bosskey, a man who brings a smile simply with his presence. The difference in “King Queen Jack” is that comedians who have entertained individually come together on this platform. Says Y. Gee. Mahendra: “It will be a Las Vegas style stand-up comedy popularised by people like Bob Hope. The audience is sure to be in splits listening to four of us talking about four different subjects.” The show set in a night club has a live band. It is hosted by Jagan (of Kadavul Pathi Mirugam Pathi fame) and Ramya.
