Experience Norway’s fjords, mountains and pretty towns
Just Chill On the cool coasts
As the mercury rises, wouldn’t you want to cruise along the cool shores of Norway, Greenland and Antarctica?
That’s what Cruise Norway’s (India) coastal voyage expedition is all about. You can experience Norway’s magnificent fjords, mountains, pretty towns and charming coastal villages on the luxurious cruises aboard three state-of-the-art ships.
The Coastal Voyage (also known as Hurtigruten) includes 34 ports of call with stopovers ranging from 45 minutes to up to six hours, giving passengers enough time to get a feel of the region. A typical 12-day roundtrip from Bergen includes calls at the major ports of Alesund, Trondheim, Bodo, Svolvaer, Harstad, Tromso, Hammerfest, Honningsvag, Vardo and Kirkenes, and costs between $ 1,999 and $ 9,099. If you’d prefer a shorter trip, a seven-day voyage from Bergen to Kirkenes would cost you between $ 1,399 and $ 6,099, and a six-day cruise from Kirkenes to Bergen is priced between $ 1, 099 and $ 5,099.
If you prefer to explore the region by land, you can take one of the air/sea independent packages and escorted packages that combine land and fjord exploration with the coastal voyage.
For example, the 16-day Scandinavian Smorgasbord escorted vacation combines a south-bound Kirkenes-Bergen voyage with a taste of all things Scandinavian. It starts at Stockholm and continues by overnight train to Swedish Lapland and by coach to northern Finland. Along the way, you can view beautiful landscapes dotted with wide river valleys. From there, you can head to the arctic mining town of Kirkenes and sail to Bergen. Finally, you get to enjoy an overnight cruise to Copenhagen from Oslo before you return to India. This is just one of the combined land/sea holiday options available, and would cost $ 5369 (per person) upwards.
