Donning a new role

Mukesh is busy writing the second part of his autobiography ‘Mukesh Stories’

Actor-writer Mukesh opens a can of fond memories

Mukesh, the actor who is unique in his own way of acting is showing instincts as a writer too. The actor is now busy writing the second part of his autobiography ‘Mukesh Stories’ as the first part of the book moves to the second edition.< /p>

The huge response and encouragement which he got from the first part of the book inspired him to write the second part. The second part of the book deals with his life as an actor in drama and in films.

“I’ve a lot of humorous experiences in my life. It may be difficult for others to believe it but I’m writing only facts,” says Mukesh.

In the first part of his autobiography he presents his life during college days in S.N. College, Kollam as a B.Sc. Botany student. The response I got for the book was mind-blowing. While those from my generation felt a sense of nostalgia when reading of my college days, the younger generation lament the fact that they do not have such campuses now,” says Mukesh.

His best compliment he says are from Malayalam critic K.P. Appan who told him that he must continue writing after reading the first part of his autobiography.

“I’ve always envied writers. But I’ve never thought of becoming one. I just wanted to tell my experiences in life to the readers,” says Mukesh.

Mukesh finds time to meet his old friends and teachers. He feels those moments impart him with lot of energy as an actor.

Reading ‘Mukesh Stories’ is like going back to one’s college days and we feel that the words of Gabriel Garcia Marquez are right “Life is not what we lived but what we remember and how we remember it in order to recount it.”
