Holiday for parents-to-be

Tourism is growing by leaps and bounds, with new concepts and packages being introduced to tap the market. Initially, it was only the ‘firangi’ who was labelled as a tourist. But with the disposable income of the middle classes getting bi gger, domestic tourism is really catching on

Holidays abroad are within the reach of many, as a result. From rural tourism to cooking tourism, new packages are being offered to different kinds of people.

Being in the family way is one of the most important periods in the life of a couple. Thoughts of a life taking shape thrill them. Never mind if the first three months give you hell. After that the woman is pampered by one and all.

That is, in the household. Now, here is a tourism package for expectant couples. Called the Baby Moon package, it has been launched by Thuriya Leisure.

The offer enables a couple to be alone with the baby-to-be-born: some quiet moments before their life takes a completely different turn.

The concept, though new in India, is quite popular in the West, says Unnikrishnan G., director of Thuriya Leisure.

Baby Moon Packages give a feel of togetherness among the expectant couples. Some of the destinations chosen include Kumarakom, Marari, Varkala, Bangalore and Goa.The programme is valid through the year.

The tours will be packaged for three to five nights, inclusive of all meals and return transfers from the arrival point of the desired destination. For details, log on to www.thuriyaleisure.com or call 484 2535621/22 or 94465 44481/82.
