The Hong Kong shopping festival woos tourists with plenty of offers

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Visa International have collaborated to promote the Hong Kong Shopping Festival 2007, which is on till August 31.
The summer shopping promotion has become a firm fixture on the city’s events calendar.
The festival is organised by the HKTB for the sixth consecutive year and this time, the organisers have launched the Visa Preferred Merchants Tourist Offers, which gives Visa cardholders a range of shopping, dining, sightseeing and personal care offers at select places.
To “reward international visitors” who make purchases with their Visa cards in Hong Kong, Visa cardholders can look forward to a free twist cone from any McDonald’s outlet in Hong Kong when they spend HK $ 200 or above on their Visa cards at any Visa merchant, as well as discounts and free gifts when shopping at designated merchant outlets from the launch of the Festival till end September 2007.
The other things to look forward to are a symphony of lights “enhanced with special pyrotechnics”, to be held every Saturday till August end.
Visitors can also look forward to an array of theme-based activities and product expos, including the Chinese medicine expo, luxury timepiece exhibition, Hong Kong beauty and make-up carnival. For details log on to www.visa.com.hk.
