New Faces on 3K

“Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal,” popularly called 3K, a series on school life on Vijay TV (Monday to Thursday at 8 p.m.), is giving other serials a run for their money, as it has taken the youth audience by storm. Set in a school background, 3K revolves around the adolescent lives of two rival groups of students. This serial, produced by Timeframes on behalf of Vijay TV, is the only show with new faces that has proven to be a hit. As the boys and girls in the serial are on the verge of completing school, the producers announced that they are on the look out for new faces. Nearly 5,000 eager youngsters applied, and after screening, the number of applicants was pruned to 225, out of which the director Prabhu Kanna selected 11 based on their acting skills and looks. Most of those selected are actually school students; a few are mimicry artistes and dancers. The newcomers are attending a workshop that will help them perform well on 3K.
