Behind the scenes The series follows the highs and lows of the restaurant business

Discovery Travel & Living is all set to serve the behind-the-scenes drama inherent in a family-run restaurant business in its premiering series, “The Family Restaurant”. The Family Restaurant is a saga of a fiery Edmonton restaurateur and patriarch, Yianni Psalios, his colourful family – wife, son, daughter and son-in-law, and the bustling Greek eateries which they all run together. With a forthright wife, an insecure son, a rebellious daughter and a son-in-law-to-be, Yianni has to contend with varying mood swings, opinions and pride within his family and co-workers. To complicate matters further, and possibly just to irritate his family members, Yianni has almost decided to open a third restaurant across the street from his previous restaurant. Will the family members ever have another day off and can they survive being in competition with themselves? How will they cope with food critics and lingering customers who keep the eateries open till late? Will the son be able to get into his father’s good books? Viewers will learn this and more on The Family Restaurant slated to air on Discovery Travel & Living every Saturday at 8 pm.
