Ways of the world

Fiction is reality for some people. How can you avoid them?

TWO FOR JOY Knowing each other well is essential in any relationship

In this day and age, life is fast. The world is evolving and we, along with it. And as such, face the choice of either moving along with the world, accepting the changes that life has to offer and grow from the inside, or stay back, holding on to the outdated way of thinking and living, happy that no matter what the world becomes, at least we’ll still have our values. These two paths are the dominant ways of the world and most of us live by one of these two choices. We base everything on what we are. Principles, we call them. Teachings that we’ve either acquired or that have been passed on to us. They play a key role in the relationship we get ourselves into.

But there always exceptions. They are those who are too stupid to be part of normal society. Those who believe that fiction is reality and everything it teaches them is to be memorised like the commandments from heaven. And do these people know how to freak a woman out when it comes to expressing their interests. This is the third time I’m going on a rampage about these silly creatures. You could say I’m documenting their entire lifestyle. The first article I wrote on them was about the way they act when they’re in school; the second was about college, and now, about the same misguided souls who work in software companies or wherever you might find them.

These are the kind of people who believe that if they look at a woman for six months with the occasional eye contact or the heavenly intervention of the rare, “hello” and the final sign of her asking them for help, then they are in love for eternity and they should propose marriage before like-minded morons do so. And there are people who believe that what they see in the movies is real. Else why would they make movies on such subjects if not to teach the public the true morals of life?

All I have to say to the women who have to tolerate this nonsense is that if you are dumb enough to fall for such people, then you’re as stupid as they are and I’m glad you found each other. (Send in your queries to craigscall@yahoo.co.in)
