President commends dancer

Bharatanatyam dancer Swetha Gopalan performs at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Swetha Gopalan, a biotechnology graduate from Anna University, presented a Bharatanatyam recital at the Rashtrapati Bhavan recently. The President, A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, who watched the entire recital, praised the dancer for her beautiful performance. S wetha is the granddaughter of N. P.Seshadri, Chairman, NCO. He was also present on the occasion.

Swetha began her recital with pushpanjali followed by an extract from Vishnu Sahasranamam, Trikala Tritala Suladi and Pallandu Pallandu. She concluded the programme with Andal’s ‘Vaaranamayiram.’ Among those who attended the performance were musicians, including Guru Malathi Dominic.

Swetha’s brother, Srinivasan, compered the programme.
