Kids’ theatre
If your child is interested in theatre, this one’s for you. Divyodaya inter-religious centre and Luminar Creations, Chennai, are organising ‘Children’s Theatre’, a workshop, today and tomorrow. Children will be introduced to
acting, communication skills, body language, mime, improvisation, modulation, dialect delivery and creation of small skits and dramas, and the art of make-up. The workshop is on from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students from Classes V to XII can join. The charges for the two-day course are Rs. 350 (including snacks). Participation certificates will be given. Adivasi artefacts
The Nilgiri Adivasi Welfare Association, Kotagiri has come down to the plains to give Coimbatoreans a chance to buy South Indian handicrafts. The wood and metal crafts of around 25 craftspersons from various parts of the South are on display.
The main attraction is Toda embroidery, practised and carefully preserved by the Todas. The exhibition is sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts).
The exhibition is on at President Hall, Avanashi Rd, till July 22 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
