Silver jubilee

Vijay recently celebrated the silver jubilee run of his “Pokkiri” in style, in the presence of nearly 8,000 cheering fans at the Nehru Stadium, Chennai. He and his dad S.A. Chandrasekhar made the evening memorable for the fans who had com e in specially hired buses from all over the State for the bash. Srikant Deva and his troupe belted out racy numbers, and a bevy of dancers such as Namitha, Kiran, Tejasree, Chaya Singh and Malavika danced to hits, all from the actor’s movies. The highlight of the evening was when a group of physically challenged young dancers, along with dance master-actor-director Lawrence and Vijay danced together, sending the crowd into raptures. Kamal Hassan, who was the chief guest, said Vijay had become a big star thanks to his hard work and dedication.
