VOICE YOUR VIEWS -- ACCIDENT-PRONE ROADS IN CITY

Madurai-ites cannot forget the horrible accident few weeks ago in Aandalpuram that claimed the life of two young college girls. The stretch between Jaihindpuram bridge and Palanganatham Cross Road is accident prone. The slope of Aandalpuram bridge lacks grip and increases the risk of accident for two-wheelers and trucks who can easily go out of control. Even pedestrians and cyclists are at risk from speeding sand laden trucks. Surveillance cameras sould be installed along main roads to keep an eye on speeding vehicles. This will instill an element of fear in drivers. Speed breakers should be laid properly. Route buses from southern districts can be diverted from Tirumangalam instead of allowing them to enter the city during peak hours and adding to the chaos.
