Kalpa Druma fest
Kalpa Druma presents its second annual festival, Kalpa Druma Arts and Artists, dedicated to the memory of its founder, the late K.S. Parameswaran. The festival will open at Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium, Mylapore, on August 11, 5 p.m., with a Carnatic
music appreciation programme by Sampradaya. The programme will be anchored by Geetha Rajagopal, director, Sampradaya, and S.A.K.Durga, Professor Emeritus, Department of Indian Music, University of Madras, and Director, Centre for Ethnomusicology, Chennai.
At 6.30 p.m. T.M. Krishna will present a concert based on the five elements. Accompanying him are R.K. Shriramkumar (violin), Mannargudi Easwaran (mridangam) and T.V.Vasan (ghatam). On Sunday, August 12, 6.30 p.m., R.K.Srikantan will present Carnatic vaggeykaras along with the Trinity compositions. He will be accompanied by R.S. Ramakanth (vocal support), V.V.
