Stephen Alter recently released his new book “Fantasies of A Bollywood Love Thief – Inside The World of Indian Moviemaking” in New Delhi recently. .

The book tracks the making of director Vishal Bhardwaj’s highly acclaimed film Omkara, including script readings with the actors, interviews with ace film directors, lyricists, and producers like Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, Madhur Bhandarkar and Dev Anand.

Alter was all poised for a discussion on his book with Konkana Sen, Ruchir Joshi and Lushin Dubey. He shared some memorable experiences with the crew of Omkara.

He said his love for Hindi cinema inspired him to write as an insider. “The Othello adaptation has been beautifully crafted on the screen,” he added.
