Tribute concert

Still standing Veteran band Deep Purple

This Friday, the Unwind Center will feature the sounds of two legendary classic rock bands with a tribute to to Black Sabbath and Deep Purple by local bands.

The British band Black Sabbath have a reputation for outrageous antics such as beheading birds on stage and are best known for hits such as “Paranoid” and “Iron Man” After Ozzy Osbourne, the frontman of Black Sabbath, was sacked from the band, one of his replacements as vocalist was none other than Ian Gillan of Deep Purple. Formed around the same time as Sabbath, Deep Purple are viewed as one of the pioneering groups of heavy metal and hard rock. With album sales worldwide of over 100 million they have clearly caught the public’s ears. The band still tour and perform together to this day. Last year they performed an amazing show in Bangalore, their only stop in Asia while on tour.

The concert on September 14 will feature local acts Pipers, Stormwind and Shamanns showcasing the best of the two bands’ catalogues. The concert kicks off at 7 p.m. on September 14 at Unwind Center, 104, 17th C main, 5th Block, Koramangala. Contact 098807 56464 for details.
