Quiz on tourism for college students on September 27
|
Tourism opens doors for women — This is the theme announced by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation for this year. Hi-Tours, a destination marketing and conference management company, along with Air India and the Department of Tourism of the Anna Adarsh College for Women, organises the Air India Tourism Quiz for colleges in the city on September 27 (World Tourism Day), 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Anna Adarsh College for Women.
The first, second and third prize winning teams will be given two return tickets to Singapore, Malaysia (KL) and Thailand (Bangkok), respectively. From this year onwards, there will be a rolling trophy for the college securing the first prize, which will be given on behalf of Puducherry Tourism, the lead sponsors for the quiz.
The associate sponsors are Singapore Tourism Board, Tourism Malayisa and Success Travel, Bangkok, who are sponsoring a two nights and three days stay at Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok respectively. Priamvada Viswanathan, Chief Commercial Officer, Southern Railway, is the quiz master.
Students have already started registering their names for the quiz which will create awareness of destinations in India and the world among the youth of today.
How to apply? Teams comprising two bonafide students with an authorisation from the Principal or department head can register with Dr. Revathi Girish, Head of the Department of Travel and Tourism, Anna Adarsh College for Women or call 94444 74075 or Hi-Tours at 42148011. Spot registration can be done between 8 a.m. and 8.45 a.m. There are also prizes for the audience.
