Nature beckons Tourists enjoying at the beach
Misty droplets of water caress the air. Sheets of water cool the air generating a mystic romantic aura. Myriad monsoon moods enhance the beauty of nature. At a time when nature is at its best form, holidaying is the best way to unwind and come close
to Mother Earth. Fed up with the traffic snarls and monotonous lifestyle in the concrete jungles of the cities, a taste of country life is what the tourists crave for.
Pack your bags and explore the pastoral charm of Chhattisgarh and its simplicity by taking one of the package tours of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. “It’s a great place to de-stress, far away from the chaotic pace of city,” says tourism officer K.R. Jyothi. Choose from any of the three package tours started by the department recently - family package tour, monsoon family package tour and pooja package tour. You can contact the regional office here at R.K. Beach for information on accommodation and transport facilities. The family package tour is a two-night and three-day package that is inclusive of accommodation, transport and food. Accommodation will be provided at the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s hotel at Asna in Jagdalpur district. The hotel has eight AC rooms with double occupancy. The tour covers the scenic Chitrakote and Tirathgarh waterfalls, Dantewada temple, Barsur temple, Balaji temple and museum apart from a bird watching programme, all located within 40 kms distance from the Asna. This tour covers a total distance of 1,000 km. The monsoon family package tour, a three nights and four days trip, starts from Raipur and covers places around Gangrel and Jagdalpur. The pooja package tour is for 10 nights and 11 days and starts from Howrah covering places like Raipur, Barnawapara, Sirpur, Champaranya, Rajim, Keshkal, Asna, Tirathgarh, Dantewada, Barsur, Chitrakote, Jagdalpur, Kondagaon and Bhoramdeo.
Nestled between green-capped hills and beaches, Vizag has emerged into a hot tourist spot over the past few years. In its efforts to give a fillip to tourism, several measures have been started by the Forest Department. Kambalakonda Eco-tourism Park will shortly start the State’s first night safari in the forest area within the Park. “The two and half kilometer road for night safari is almost nearing completion. We expect to start off with the safari by the second week of October,” says divisional forest officer P.J. Vijaykar, in-charge of the Park.
The newly laid road will be open only for night safari to avoid human disturbances. This will increase the chances of spotting wildlife. Once the safari begins, night stay will be allowed inside the jungle. Five eco-friendly cottages overlooking the lush green valley have been constructed and two more will be ready shortly. For all those who seek stimulation that only physical challenges can offer, here is some good news. While trekking, river crossing and angling activities have already been started at the Park, suitable spots for rock climbing are being explored. Adventure Zone is also planning to start bungee jumping activity once a proper place is selected.
