Love story

Sekhar Kammula is a gutsy Telugu director and a trendsetter, who has changed the way Telugu films are made. He has made small, realistic films such as “Anand” and “Godavari”, and created a niche market for such films, especial ly among the large Telugu community in the U.S. His campus love story “Happy Days” was recently released — first in theatres in the U.S. and, five days later, in Andhra Pradesh on Gandhi Jayanthi day. The film carries positive reviews and Sekhar has shown that there is a new audience for Telugu films without big stars or commercial ingredients both in the U.S. and in the big cities of Andhra Pradesh.
