No vehicles

Any vehicular traffic should be stopped from entering Meenakshi Temple area. The Chithrai streets should be made vehicle free zones. Pedestrians should have enough free space to walk around tension free and admire the temple architecture from outside before entering it. All platforms should be freed of vendors, hawkers and all other types of encroachments. Lorries should not be allowed in East Marret and East Veli Streets. Tricycles should not be allowed around Meenakshi Temple. Autorickshaws, tourist vans and buses should not be allowed to park around the temple. They should be allowed to park in the nearby streets adjacent to the temple. This way the four Chithirai streets will look tidy and well maintained.

R. GOPALAKRISHNAN,

Madurai.
