The Prime Force Academy will conduct a Short Film Festival on issues of social awareness. It is an opportunity for filmmakers to present their work to the media and network with other filmmakers. There will be a film-savvy audience to view the festiv
al and perhaps even appreciation awards will be given to the participants.
The first prize is a sum of Rs. 10,000, the second prize Rs. 7,500 and the third Rs. 5,000. The awards will given by veteran film directors like K. Balachander and Balu Mahendra. The event will take place at Pitty Thiagaraja Hall, T. Nagar on October 17, 6 p.m.
Entry fee is Rs. 500 and must be remitted by demand draft favouring Prime Force Academy payable at Chennai and must be enclosed with the entry form. Entry forms are available on www.primeforceacademy.in.
The films must be made on any social issue and of a 10-minute duration and must be completed after January 2005. Non-English language films must be subtitled in English, say the organisers. DVDs only will be accepted for previews and master tapes or film prints will not be accepted, they add. Out of the short-listed films, the three best films will be given a shield and a cash prize.
October 10 is the last date to send in your entries. Stills can be sent on disc or emailed in high-resolution jpeg format to Prime Force Academy, 9, Chitra Avenue, 102 Vasu Block, Choolaimedu High Road, Chennai-94 or email primeforceacademy@gmail.com or awarepfacademy@yahoo.com.
