“Chak De India” girls launch Max store
|
Vidya Malvade
Three members of the Chak De India team were in Delhi again to launch the third Max store in the Capital. Vidya Malvade – the sensible Vidya Sharma, Tanya Abrol – the dynamic Balbir Kaur, and Anaitha Nair – the na
ughty Aliya Bose were present at V3S Mall in Laxmi Nagar which was decked up with blue, red and white balloons.
The crowd was going crazy anticipating the arrival of the girls. Surprisingly, the girls were composed and casual even though the media showered them with questions on their arrival. They presented kids from the Hope Foundation with gifts sponsored by Max. The children were very excited to meet their screen heroines in person.
The girls are now completely engrossed in brand promotions and attending openings. However, they say, the fame and attention has not gone to their heads. When asked about their newfound glory, Anaitha said, “It’s all in your head. You don’t get bigheaded if you don’t want to.” A modest Anaitha admitted that they wanted to do a lot more through this film than just playing up the glamour quotient, and when asked which sports star she would personally want to meet, her very excited response was, “Dhoni”. On the other hand the ever composed and calm Vidya, said, “I won’t pick just one…they all are great.”
However, Tanya admitted that she would like to meet the hockey star Dilip Tirkey. When asked about her favourite stroke from the film, she answered, “The one which I hit to score a goal against the boys’ team.” She added, “At the end of the day the film was about team spirit, and that was what I liked the most about the script.”
The opening was also marked by a mini hockey game, in which members of the crowd participated, to celebrate the Chak De spirit.
