Dhahi Pakkoda
Ingredients:
Cinnamon: 2 pieces
Cloves: 2 pieces
Basil: 3 leaves
Pepper: 4
Chickpea flour (Besan):1 cup
Onions: 2
Green chillies slit: 2
Ginger, slit: 1 tsp
Chat masala: a pinch
Turmeric powder: a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Water: 1 1/2 cup
Hung curd: 3 cups
For tempering
Mustard: 1 tsp
Urud Daal: 2 tsp
Cashew nut: 4 pieces
Red chillies: 2
Curry leaves: 3 stalksCoriander leaves(Chopped): 3
Method:
Grind the cinnamon, cloves, basil, pepper, chat masala, turmeric powder and salt. Add the besan to this, along with the chopped onions and water. Mix well.
In a kadai, pour oil and heat well. Make ball shaped- pakodas and fry till golden brown. Take out and put the pakodas in water for few seconds. Remove from the water and set aside.
Pour hung curd in the same bowl. Now add salt and chat masala to taste in the curd.
For tempering, take oil in a kadai and add the mustard, urud daal, cashew nut, red chillies, curry leaves. Pour it in the serving dish. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves, julienned ginger and slit green chillies.
