Sayyeda Sayyidain, Member, Planning Commission, inaugurated Satrang, an exhibition of seven artists from across the country, working in different genres of art, in New Delhi recently.

Organised by Gallery Art Room, the exhibition showcased new works that splash the seven colours of the rainbow across the canvas in different mediums and styles.

Dipika Agarwal, Director, Art Room said, “The seven artists propose their own explanation of the rainbow. They present a collection of artworks, which are representative of their chosen style and medium.”

Peace Canvas

Curated by Sushma K. Bahl and Archana Bahl Sapra, the exhibition includes works of artists Bhagat Singh, Pradeep Puthoor, Parvin Dabas, Sonia Chawla, Viren Tanwar and Simrin Agarwal, among others. The artists painted even colours in their own artistic language and forms.

Describing his creations artist Viren Tanwar said, I paint the saga of everyone’s life, a life that in many ways is symbolically linked to the circus. The ambitions of life may vary but the fact remains that there is no running away from the circus of life.”

Displaying her works on the theme of nature meeting technology, artist Simrin Agarwal said, “There is a collision between the real and the imaginary in my paintings. By exploring the relationship between the urban and the biomorphic, I thread together a complex maze of fascinating imagery.”

The rainbow will continue to dazzle at Art Room, Sainik Farms, till October 10th
