Useful tips

The article, ‘Yoga and youth’ (October 4), will prove to be very useful for the young and old alike. Learning yoga and making it a part of one’s routine will prove to be an asset.

‘The age of fulfilment’ (October 1) was inspiring.

I recommend that the words, “Shed your ego and don’t become a couch potato” mentioned in the article be pasted in the bathroom mirror of every home so that senior citizens can read it first thing in the morning.

Kavignar Puriyarasu and Dr. Manonmani deserve our appreciation for being an inspiration to their contemporaries.

Eye-opener

Both the articles on the International Day for Older Persons (‘The age of fulfilment’ and ‘A charmer all the way’ – Dev Anand) were an eye-opener for all those who are worried in their old age.

Helpful CDs

It is true that in this computer age where the world is moving with a tremendous speed, puja CDs (CD priests and digital puja, October 1) not only save money, but also help at a time when there is a dearth of priests. These also help Gen Next carry on their traditions.

Detailed

‘Colourful canyon’ (September 29) was a wonderfully detailed article on the Grand Canyon. During my last trip to the U.S., I had been to the Grand Canyon, and much to my surprise, discovered that the Government there has named several peaks in the canyon after Hindu gods and goddesses.

Gives confidence

‘The age of fulfilment’ infuses a sense of confidence in the elderly. After all, we must understand that retirement is the beginning of a fresh phase in life, where you get to live life on your own terms.
