Brand bazaar Myriad choices at the furniture section
The charged music and dazzling energy reverberates across the place. There is food, fashion and fun, so the show has to be a super success! Here’s a scintillating, glittering extravaganza, a mother of all shows that has taken the city by storm with its mind-boggling features. The ‘Hindu-Eenadu Lifestyle Show 2007’ is one such event that has been pulling the crowds right from day one.
Big names, bigger brands and an enviable ensemble of lifestyle products make the show a ‘must see’ for all Vizagites. A statement in lifestyle, The Hindu-Eenadu Lifestyle Show, unfolded in style at the AU Engineering Grounds on October 11. A prime event in the shopping calendar in most of the South Indian cities, the expo has opened a new window to retail shopping for the people. The testimony of its success story lies in the fact that the show, which began as a single city event in 2004, has now spread over to nine venues across India.

For the first time ever, the mega show is being conducted at Vizag across a sprawling 40,000 sq. ft. shopping area in two air-conditioned hangers. Sponsors and participants from all over India have showcased their wares here. You name it, they have it, automobiles, including swanky cars, consumer electronic goods, accessories for your home, kitchen and bathroom, computers and other IT products, textiles and jewellery, furniture, handicrafts and beauty and health products finds a place here. At the entrance, a profusion of wall hangings, stoneware furniture and paintings greet you. Mystique Design is sparkling with the colourful vibrancy of the lamps and showpieces embossed with real flowers. Priced between Rs.850 to Rs.8,000, these are the latest art forms that are created by using natural fauna and flora. As you move ahead, the refreshing smell of perfumes wafts in the air. Ahsan perfumes have placed an array of perfumes, roll-ons and deo-sprays to charge up your spirit before you embark on the shopping extravaganza. In the background is the massive Samsung pavilion with its huge range of refrigerators, sleek televisions, dazzling LCDs and washing machines. Check out the beautiful marble and woodcarvings of Artisan’s right before the Samsung pavilion. Carved in marble with old ivory dyes and a tinge of gold, the shining artifacts of the stall are a definite eye-catcher!
Ladies whet the shopping appetite, for here’s a scintillating range of home furnishings and textiles on display. There are the glittering range things like jewellery, sarees and dress materials (check out the stall by Nalli and Punjabi dress materials stall at the end of the first hanger), imported stuff (toys, fancy items, accessories and household), fitness equipment (worth mentioning is the iRest massage chair), a whole range of cutlery and decorative items, handicrafts, pottery, paintings/ frames, etc., that would impress women in general. For gadget freaks, cameras, watches, hybrid camcorders, portable DVD player, MP4 and MP3 photoplayer. Check for these and more such stuff in Hall 2. This is the hall where big brands like Chevrolet, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, and Tata Motors vie with each other for the visitors’ attention. There is furniture galore at the place. For all those of you who are planning to add a touch of glamour and style to your interiors this festive season, the lifestyle show has plenty to offer. Stalls of Damro, Oak n’ Oak and Godrej have spread across trendy and comfortable home furnishings at attractive prices. It is amazing how innovative people can be. Here’s a stall that sells eye-masks and face masks made of aloe vera, while next door is a stall that sells a four-in-one magic steamer that claims to cook even un-soaked channa in half an hour! And if your exhausted by the end of the mega-shopping experience, tuck into chaats, panipuris, sandwiches, juices, tea and coffee and a lot more at the food court at the end. The lifestyle show will be on till October 15 from 10.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. with an entry fee of Rs.20 per head. Get yourself ready for a mind-blowing experience at the grand event this weekend.
