<>I have lice and dandruff. What’s the treatment?

Anu

Apply vinegar on the hair and scalp. After half-an-hour, comb your hair with a fine lice comb and have the nits taken out. Then wash your hair. Add two tablespoons of vinegar to a mug of water and use it as a last rinse. After washing your hair, comb it with the lice comb again. Do this for a week. It will also help your dandruff problem. Have weekly henna treatments. Add four teaspoons each of lemon juice and coffee, two raw eggs, two teaspoons of ground methi seeds and enough tea water to the henna powder, mixing it into a thick paste.

<>I’ve heard that Vitamin E helps delay aging. Can I take Vitamin E capsules?

Ruchi

Consult a doctor before taking such supplements. Vitamin E is an antioxidant and may help delay aging. Vitamin E is also present in natural dietary sources such as polyunsaturated oils, eggs, whole grains, soya bean, green vegetables and almonds. Wheat germ is rich in Vitamin E, but when wheat is processed, the germ is removed from it. You can have dalia (broken wheat), or add wheat germ to milk, orange juice, or the dough that you mix to make chapatis. </>

<>What’s the remedy for hair loss in men?

VINOD

Hair loss can occur due to dandruff, oily scalp, nutritional deficiencies and stress. In men, hair loss can be due to hormonal/hereditary factors. Consult a dermatologist to find out the cause. Daily use of a non-oily herbal hair tonic may help. Apply oil once a week without massaging it. Just use your finger tips to move the scalp in small circular movements. Avoid vigorous rubbing of the hair. Ask the doctor to prescribe Vitamin B-Complex and Vitamin C.

<>I have boils on my nose. They burn if I sweat. What can I do to get rid of them?

Radha

The salt in the sweat probably causes burning. Mix rose water with an astringent lotion in equal quantities and wipe your face with it using cotton wool, two or three times a day. When you are out of the house, use wet tissues to wipe your face. Apply sandalwood paste on the boils daily.

<>How can I use beer to add shine to my hair? After a beer rinse, can I wash my hair the same day?

Satyendra

Beer should be used to rinse the hair after shampooing it. Take flat beer and add the juice of a lemon to it and use it as a rinse after shampooing. Tea water and a lemon rinse can help add shine. Make tea water by boiling used tea leaves again in enough water. There should be about four cups of tea water after boiling. Cool it and strain it. Add the juice of a lemon to it and use it as a last rinse. Do not wash it off with water.
